Welcome to The Flying Carpet Oriental Rugs! This website is intended to provide you with the information you need to know about us, and the kinds of oriental rugs and services we have to offer. Please click the “About Us” tab for a brief history of our rug shop, which has been in business for nearly 40 years.

At both locations of The Flying Carpet, our intent is to provide REAL hand-knotted oriental rugs in as wide a variety of designs and colors as possible. We have literally millions of dollars invested in our inventory and have access to many more thousands of rugs. The only thing we DON’T carry are machine-made rugs or broadloom carpeting or flooring.

Update about our Huntsville location:

We have made the difficult decision to cease operations at our Huntsville location. As of August 31 we are officially closed as an oriental rug showroom and all rugs have been transferred to our Florence location.

I must stress that we did not “go out of business,” we are just adapted to the current economic situation and consolidated our inventory into one location. We will, unfortunately, be unable to continue the consignment of rugs. If you have rugs with us for sale under consignment we will be contacting you for the best way to return them to you.

We hope that future circumstances will allow us to return to a growing status, and have greatly appreciated all of you who have visited our Huntsville showroom.
